Norfolk’s Artisans Guild Spotlights Creatives

The Artisans Guild in Norfolk, Connecticut is showcasing talent from all over the state. This quaint town established in 1758, is a hub for creatives. Owners Kathy Williams and Vee Kausel have taken it upon themselves to open up this venue so that others will have a place to show off what they’re making in their homes. Kausel who took me on a tour of the Guild which you will see below says they are fostering good creatives works and providing a place for them to sell their work.

It is going over so well that there is a waiting list for artists to get inside the place. Kausel says they try not to duplicate the work that they are showing at any one time and the price points are good for those coming in to shop. The prices are one-dollar to $600.00

Kausel is quite the artist herself, she makes jewelry and knits and sews and makes cards. She told me she never throws anything away and by doing that she comes up with a new item to make.

Inside this wonderful venue there is also Connecticut-made maple syrup and canned pickles and jams and jellies and soaps , and well you name it, even leather goods. Check out the video below and you’ll get a real good idea of what you’ll find when you head to the Guild.

Incidentally it’s a stone’s throw from Infinity Hall, a fabulous entertainment venue booking some really rockin shows.

The address of the Artisans Guild is: 10 Station Place right off of Route 44. The phone number is 860 542 5055.. There isn’t a web site yet, but they do have a Facebook page right HERE. “Like” the Facebook page so you’ll be able to be keep up-to-date on what goodies are in the store, and at the same time you’ll be helping out a local artist.

This is wonderful, Kathy. The Artisans Guild and 34 other artists will be part of a wonderful, free Open Studio tour the weekend of June 25 & 25 – from Norfolk through New Hartford. Many wonderful artists and artisans, working in a wide variety of media. Look over the openyoureyestour website. I hope you will find it interesting and perhaps be able to join in the fun and discovery. Thank you for sharing this.
