Need A Stick For That Marshmallow?

The world wide headquarters for a company called Smorstix is located in Madison, Connecticut.

The idea was born in 1998 when Joe Cooper thought there had to be a better way of getting a hold of a stick to roast a marshmallow over an open fire. He hunted on line and in stores and all he came up with were metal sticks.

The lightbulb went off and he and his wife Erin decided they would develop their own and now their “stix” and all the fixins to make a s’mores are in stores across the U.S. and in Canada.

They found a vacuum and filled it, which is what all entrepreneurs try to do. There are four products in all and they get stories from folks all the time about where their “stix” end up including at a wedding in Greece.

Hotel chains which include Hilton, Hyatt and the Ritz Carton have their “stix” too because these hotels all have fire pits and what comes to mind right away? Well roasting marshmallows, so supplies of the product are kept around.

Twelve years ago when they started the company they kept their inventory in the garage at their home, now they have warehouses because they’ve grown so large. This is a company made in the U.S.A. and that’s where it’s staying, quite refreshing.

Oh and by the way, there is another new product. It’s called “Smornament.” This is a great gift or favor for a Christmas wedding. Inside the clear plastic ball is enough ingredients for one S’more, is that great or what…good for college students too studying for first semester finals.
