A New Beginning With Lavender and Soap

Dyan Salemi, of Madison, Connecticut is smack dab in the middle of reinvention like so many these days. Stuck in a tough economic spot, she met some folks, got an idea and got a small business going with little know-how, but had a can-do spirit. Salemi provides beautiful lavender and soap gifts for weddings, showers, spas, even for candidates running for office. She makes everything herself in her home. Her business is called In O’Scents of Madison. She also has a Facebook page under the same name where she is getting the word out about her new venture.

The thing about Salemi, she puts her heart and soul into everything she makes. She crafts each item and then thinks about how to embellish it with other items that might make the gifts even more special for wedding guests or bridal showers. The woman is amazing and is a whirling dervish when it comes to getting things done. She can’t rely on others she has to do this herself, which is where so many in America are right now.

Oh, but I have to mention that her rescue cat, Beau, is right there helping her, when he’s not napping, talk about a fat and happy animal.

My mantra has been since the economic wake up call in the fall of 2008, that we have to reinvent, and we have to help each other as if it were the days of post World War II. While this is so daunting, the entrepreneurial spirit is a live and well and that will move the country forward in new ways. Salemi is a great example of this. While she needs help in growing her business she continues to help others as well.

If you need something get a hold of her, you’ll have it in no time, that’s how she rolls.
