Connecticut Open House Day

ct open house day2Nutmeg Junction’s Trolley enjoyed many adventures during CT OPEN HOUSE DAY June 8th, 2013!

What a beautiful day for exploration the nutmeg state and we took full advantage of it!

The trolley rolled into Litchfield, Connecticut for the “Gallery on the Green” and saw some amazing work by incredible artists.  We visited current resident “Register Citizen artist of the month” Nancy Johnston of “Lucky from Kentucky” and Julia Sloan of Brazen Betties and many other talented creators.

Next at Waterbury’s Mattatuck Museum we enjoyed an educational program of Portrait Painting –thank you Valerie Culbertson!

We drove south to Fairfield to visit Sweet and Simple where the kids enjoyed a free ice cream (part of the Open House promotion) and Michelle, the owner was very thoughtful and considerate of her guests!

Finally we topped everything off by going to La Vida Lounge in Fairfield and visiting with our blogger friends of the CTBloggers Group (from https://www.facebook.com/groups/connecticutbloggers/ ) It was like being in a war-room of talented bloggers!

All in all it was a wonderful day! Hope you were able to get out and enjoy the CT Open House Day in your own way! Remember even if the Open House events aren’t going on next weekend or the weekends thereafter, something is ALWAYS going on Connecticut!

We always have a fabulous time when we get together. Can’t wait until the big Summer party on the 29th. Thanks for the fun cartoon Joe. It was great to meet you in person!

Wendy (and Greg) it was wonderful to meet you as well! I hope I can come on the 29th. Being in that room with you, bonnie, hilary, natasha, dana, jenny, latanya, christelle, erin (i didnt get to meet-we were leaving when she entered) and april, it was like being in the “war-room” of blogging knowledge. I’m going to do a specific cartoon just about that!

You definitely have to come to one of our meetups one month (maybe July ). I am working with DiGrazia Vineyards in Brookfield to set one up with them and possibly a wine tasting.
