Visit the U.S.S. Nautilis in Groton, CT

1240475_553699468030605_1524309323_nConnecticut has a long and storied history with submarines starting going all the way back to 1775 when David Bushnell of Westport created a submarine called the “Turtle “for use against the British during the revolutionary war.

Because of that, Groton, Connecticut is considered to be the “Submarine Capital of the World.” Not only is it the home to Electric Boat, a major submarine builder, it is the home to the Naval submarine base and the Submarine Force Museum and USS Nautilis.

Tony visited the Submarine Force Museum and he knows that when you visit too, you’ll see how amazing it is. You can go there for free. You’ll learn all about submarines and their history and you will see a replica of the Bushnell’s “Turtle.”

The highlight of your stay will be climbing aboard the USS Nautilis for a tour of this amazing and historic submarine. You can learn about life on board this vessel, you’ll see where the crew ate and slept and worked. This is such an amazing opportunity to learn something new or rediscover things that you didn’t see if you have visited before. Tony loved his visit to Groton and we hope you do too!
