“Skip’s Coat Drive” in Torrington, CT

535009_578446742222544_1100205016_nTorrington is a city on the move as citizens and businesses and non-profit groups are coming together to help the community thrive. One group that wants to make a positive change in the community is the T-Town Torrington Chatter group. The creator of the group, Skip Hoxie, has implemented “Skip’s Coat Drive” which is set to collect winter coats for the needy.

Small business owners who have joined Skip is his desire to help in the T-Town Torrington Chatter Group are volunteering their places of business as drop off points. Jessica Stepler Washington of The Arts Desire, Alfredo Viscariello of Coliseum Trading and Jewelry and Diane Concannon of Platinum Salon are the drop off point in town. If you have gently worn, clean coats for donation and are in the Torrington area, please consider donating them and dropping them off at one of these locations.

This is  a beautiful thing…helping those who need it in the most caring way

The Arts Desire, 41 Main Street, Coliseum Trading, 40 East Main Street, and Platinum Salon, 95 Main Street.

The coats will be distributed to FISHFriends in Service to Humanity of Northwestern Connecticut, in Torrington and smaller children’s coats will be distributed to Artwell Gallery for a pre-school program. This is the mission of FISH: to meet the most basic of human needs – food, shelter and hope. 

This season there will undoubtedly be a winter coat drive in your area and there will definitely be a need. Please consider donating and help make your community be a better place for all.
