1801044_627831967284021_5592650_nSince 1825, the Connecticut Historical Society has preserved the glorious and intriguing history of the Nutmeg state. There is a research facility which houses a myriad of comprehensive source materials, manuscripts and artifacts so whether you’re writing a book about the state or researching your family tree, a visit here is essential!

There is a museum here too with permanent and rotating exhibits. Always on display here is one that teaches the history of how we lived called “Making Connecticut.”  There are showcase exhibits which include “Through a Different Lens: Three Connecticut Women Photographers.” In it you will find the works of Harriet Thorne, (1843-1926), Marie Hartig Kendall (1854-1943) and Rosalie Thorne McKenna (1916-2003) which runs through March 29th, 2014. There is always something new to learn about the Constitution State.
