Rain Of Hope

1240030_517601161654033_638821230_nJennifer Ricker is changing the world, one child at a time with her non-profit organization called Rain of Hope. The desire to do this came out of an abusive relationship and she wants to empower children to take control of their lives and to engage young people to send positive messages. She told her idea to a friend at her church, Dr. Laura Bower-Phipps, who is a Professor of elementary education at Southern Connecticut State University, and she in turn got her students involved. It’s amazing what happens when the right people connect.

Rain of Hope is an after school program that Ricker hopes to take statewide, right now it’s in schools in New Haven and in Hamden. The program is just a year old, and they are dreaming about all the ways they can take this. Get your Connecticut school involved.
