Favorite Recipes ~ From James Jones ~ Yale University Basketball Coach


From one of the winningest Ivy League basketball coaches in history, Network Connecticut is proud to share a chili recipe from Yale Basketball Coach, James Jones. What is not to love about this, James has even given us his favorite way to serve it. Thanks Coach, now others get to share in your fall-wintery delight! Go Bulldogs!


James Jones’ Chili ~



6 Red Hots

1 1/2 Pounds of Ground Beef

Chili Power

2 Large Onions

2 Large Bell Peppers

2 Cans of Red Beans

2 Cans of Diced Tomatoes

Saute’ onions and bell peppers in skillet, place in large pot when finished. Brown ground beef add to pot, dice red hots sauté in skillet and add to pot.  Mix in beans and tomatoes and chili power to taste and let simmer for 40 minutes.  Serve in bowls with crackers, cheddar cheese and or sour cream.

James says “Great meal for the winter, and you can eat it all week long.”
