For twenty years, since it’s start, I have emceed the Walter Camp Football Foundation “Stay In School Rally.” Each year the foundation brings together about 2,500 8th graders from the greater New Haven, Connecticut area to be able to listen to coaches and NFL football players about the importance of staying in school, to get a good education and to meet goals of getting ahead in life. This year one of the speakers was 38-year old Christopher “Grey” Ruegamer, the owner of two Super Bowl championship rings, one from his days with the New England Patriots (Super Bowl XXXVI) and the other from the New York Giants (Super Bowl XLII). He also played professionally as a center with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. I am the only honorary female member of the foundation which gives away a lot of money to charity every year. I have seen a lot of talks over the years, and Grey’s is among the most entertaining.
