It’s Suzanne O’Brien’s Calling To Help Families

083End of Life. Death is going to happen all of us. It’s a hard topic to discuss because we all want to live forever.
Suzanne O’Brien, who was a nurse for twelve years in the area of oncology and hospice, saw a void in how we as a nation don’t help families deal with death. She is on a mission to teach families how to help their loved ones die well and at peace.
She is an “end of life doula…or a “doula-giver.” A “doula” is a non-medical person that gives physical, spiritual and emotional support to someone. It is O’Brien’s hope to build Doulagiver centers all over the country so that others can be trained on how to better deal with death. She says it is her calling.
