Katharine Hepburn’s Theater In Connecticut

The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center (The Kate) is a “gem of a place in Connecticut with a movie star name.”
Katharine Hepburn was iconic because of her fans’ recognition of her immense talent and drive. Similarly, the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center is successful because of you, its friends, patrons, members, and donors, and your recognition of the talent and immeasurable value the Kate brings to the shoreline. We thank you for the gracious gifts you provide us, your presence in the theater, and your engagement with the organization as a whole, so that we may keep Kate’s inspiration alive. You, quite frankly, are our gift.

This past year, your contributions have helped bring in over 200 programs and performances for over 30,000 children and adults to enjoy. You are paving the way for children to participate in four weeks of Kate’s Camp for Kids each summer and the Missoula Children’s Theatre residencies, introducing the next generation to the brilliant magic of various forms of art. You are a part of teaching key life skills to approximately 220 children to help them build confidence while minimizing effects of inequalities or disabilities through theater techniques.

But there is so much more that we do and can do. Our diverse offerings have ranged from opera, ballet and chamber music, to hard rock and bluegrass. In fact, Yankee Magazine selected the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center as the “Best Small Theater in Connecticut” in 2014. Similarly, Connecticut Magazine selected the Kate as the “Best Small Concert Venue” in the state. You, friends, are part of an organization making an impact in so many ways. We are grateful to you for helping to create and support these opportunities.

To provide the cultural impact that we do, we continue to need your support and engagement. This fall we have been able to increase our staff size with the specific intention of being able to better connect with and collaborate with you, our community. We look forward to sharing more information on where your contributions are making an impact and hope to work together with you further to expand the arts we share.

Your gift is extremely important because it offers resources that are directed to community arts needs and opportunities. Your gift at this time to our Annual Appeal Campaign will help make an immediate impact on our community. You are helping to shape the community that we live in now and for the future by making it brighter and more creative.

Please send your gift today. As a reminder, your contribution to the Kate, a 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization, will be tax deductible in accordance with applicable law. We thank you so much for your support. Please come visit us and learn more about what we are doing, we want to make you a part of the action.
