A Chat With ABC News Veteran Journalist, Ron Claiborne

He never set out to be on air in television news, he just wanted to be a newspaperman to tell stories. Veteran journalist, Ron Claiborne, who just called it a career about two weeks ago (September 2018) at ABC News after 32 years, was my guest on NYBERG. The 65-year young Claiborne, originally from Los Angeles, is a Yale University graduate and turns out spends quite a bit of time in New Haven from his current home in New York City. Collectively he spent 40 years in news. Claiborne says he plans to travel for pleasure now, after logging about 3-million frequent flyer miles as a news correspondent, but first he’s going to teach english in Tanzania and then to go Uganda where he’ll volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. No down time for this guy. Enjoy his interview, this newsman had a lot to say.
