New Milford, Connecticut’s Hidden Gem, Harrybrooke Park

It’s a place called Harrybrooke Park, New Milford, Connecticut’s hidden gem since 1965. Open 365 days a year, the land and home was left to the “people” of the town by its late owner, Frank Harden. Harden from Ireland, was a very wealthy man because of handkerchief business in New Jersey. He and his wife wanted a country escape and they found it in Connecticut’s quiet corner. The home was filled with exquisite turn-of-the-century paintings and visits by playwright Arthur Miller, who yes, was married to Marilyn Monroe. The park’s Executive Director, Bill Buckbee has loved the place since he spent time there as a child, he’s thrilled to be running it.
