Ella’s Medi Teddy Comforts Children

12-year old Ella Casano of Fairfield hopes her invention changes the lives of children around the world who have to have infusions. Diagnosed with a rare type of I-T-P (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura), an autoimmune disease which destroys platelets at age 7, Ella started down her life’s path of having to have 5 to 6 hour infusions every 6 to 8 weeks. She remembers being frightened seeing the I-V for the first time, she remembered that fear. At her schools invention convention she came up with her idea to cover the bag of fluid a friendly face…a bear. Since her Medi-Teddy went public just days ago the calls haven’t stopped from near and far. This is Ella and her Mom, Meg’s television debut on NYBERG and something tells me it’s going to be the first of many. Ella and her Mom and Dad and three little sisters are trying to figure out next steps to get her bears to every facility and child that wants one. A Go Fund Me site was just set up with a goal of 5-thousand dollars to help them get going and it’s already surpassed 21-thousand dollars as of this writing. The Go Fund Me developers were so impressed they have given one-thousand dollars. Here is her Go Fund Me site> HERE
