Old World Greek Style Yogurt Made In Connecticut

In Ansonia, Connecticut a young couple is making the state’s only authentic Greek yogurt, the kind you can stand a spoon up in, thick and creamy. Stani Dairy has only been in operation since 2016, but its yogurt is already in hundreds of stores and restaurants in four states…Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. Ignatios and Meni Vasilellis, married just a few years, are running a business, expecting their first child and have expansion plans on the table that will come to fruition by the end of 2019. To date, the dairy goes through 15-hundred gallons of milk from local cows, by the end of the year, it will be 7-thousand gallons. Ignatios from the island of Lesvos, started working with his father and grandfather at the age of three on the family farm. To date there are five flavors, stay tuned, more are coming as well as other dairy products, made the Greek way.
