A Famous Tree Grows In Connecticut

We call it a Chestnut Tree but it’s really a Castanea Crenata (Fagaceae). Yep that’s the scientific name for this 1876 luscious monster, a Japanese Chestnut tree,  growing in the front yard of the Bee and Thistle Inn in Old Lyme, Connecticut.
